I walked out into the hall where mom was sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper. As soon as she saw me, her eyes lit up with happiness and she stood up to get a closer look. She hugged me tightly and kissed me on my forehead.

Mom said, "Deeksha beta, you are looking so beautiful today."

I blushed and thanked her for everything she has done for me.

Mom then said, "Now let's have some fun on your special day."

Mom then took out another box from her bag and said it’s time to complete your look Deeksha. Inside the box was a pair of stunning golden jhumkas that matched perfectly with my outfit.

In the evening, mom had arranged for a small party to celebrate my birthday. She invited all our company staff and introduced me to them as Deeksha. Everyone was surprised but they welcomed me with open arms.

As we mingled with everyone, I could see that they were all genuinely happy for me. They complimented how beautiful I looked and some even said that they thought I was Lakshmi's younger sister.

I felt so relieved that everyone accepted me as Deeksha without any hesitation or judgement. It made all of my fears about coming out at work disappear.

I felt so loved and happy surrounded by people who accepted me as Deeksha. Mom hugged me and said, “Happy birthday my dear daughter, Deeksha".

It was such an amazing experience to celebrate my birthday as Deeksha surrounded by people who loved and accepted me for who I am.

From that day on, I started living my life as Deeksha full time. At work, my team started calling me Deeksha instead of Varun and it just felt right. It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

At home, Lakshmi helped me improve my feminine mannerisms and taught me how to do household chores like cooking and laundry. She also helped me to experiment with different types of Deeksha's dresses for each occasions so that I could use to them and can feel comfortable in those dresses.

I finally felt like I belonged somewhere – at home with mom as her daughter Deeksha. And at work where everyone accepted and respected who I truly am.

It wasn't an easy journey but with the love and support of mom, Lakshmi, and my colleagues, I was able to live my life as my true self.

After my transformation into Deeksha, I started going to office as her and it felt like a dream come true. I was finally living my life as the person I always wanted to be. I was accepted by my colleagues and they all started calling me Deeksha. I also introduced myself to our clients as Deeksha and they were all impressed by my confidence and skills. Slowly but surely, I proved myself in the corporate world and moved up the ranks.

With the support of Mom, I finally decided to go for Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS). It was a long process but with each passing day, my body was transforming into that of a woman's. Mom stood by me throughout the entire journey, holding my hand and giving me the strength to stay strong.

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and finally, after a year of undergoing various procedures and surgeries, I transformed completely into Deeksha. Varun was now just a distant memory of a past life. Deeksha had taken over completely and she was here to stay.

My company grew multi-folds under my leadership and hard work. One fine day, mom announced that she was retiring from her position as Managing Director of our company and named me as her successor. It was one of the best moments of my life when mom put the crown on my head and declared me as the new MD. Our clients were also happy with this decision as they saw how much potential I had in taking our company forward.

My interview was published in Forbes magazine as one of the most influential women entrepreneurs in the country. My photo even made it to the cover page. It was all so surreal but it felt like my hard work had finally paid off.

I continued living with mom even after becoming successful in both personal and professional life. She was not just my mother but also my best friend who supported me through thick and thin. We had a strong bond that was unbreakable.
